I just noticed that Cargraphic describe their special version of the bog standard GT2 K24 turbo as "GT1" -presumably a K24 with special (larger compressor) -could this be the mysterious key to Andial's magic ?
From their website:
CARP93K2424LHGT
Abgasturbolader li. GT1
P93 550PS
Preis: 2.085,00 EUR /5
CARP93K2424RHGT
Turbo charger RH GT1
P93 550HP
Price: 2.085,00 EUR /5

Round a track with respective owners driving my money would be firmly on "the fugitive"
Straight drag race I could probably muster up enough non fluffed gearchanges to be ahead (my car is ~150kg/330lbs lighter and is RWD compared to his being 4WD)

Thought I would drop in here and include myself in the Andial discussions. I had the ECU changed out just before Andial closed. The Theliart ECU was having some intermittent power cut-out issues; Dieter had said that there were a couple of other reported issues. It was replaced with the new Bosch unit. I was a happy camper, did not notice the slight drop in HP. Anyway, when smog check time came, I called Dieter just to be sure it would pass. No problem, he said. Well, the computer would not set the ready signal on the OBDII! Emmissions passed though. So in the end, the ECU went to Germany to reprogrammed as the idle was set too low, keeping the ready signal from setting. Now all is OK.

I've disguised " blackie" as a street car to kill big cubic inch race cars on the track and keep it street and smog legal. The emission thing is getting a little tough, in my home state of Kali-forn ya' as several RL mentioned, you plug into the OBD II and it sends a report to big brother.
I'm remined of a C&D or R&T test of tunner cars and Hennesey and Lingenfelter's cars failed the smog test. I'll have some test results in March to compare to Toby's world record's.

I think those are two different people. The video is from Turbodan (in Canada) while this is Dan993 (in California).

You are right. I recall someone mentioning Toronto as the location of the Youtube ride.
I saw black wheels and I thought it was the same car. Dan's car is awesome in any case.
Thanks for the correction. My mistake.

reviving an old thread...question unresolved, Andial conversion states use of "gt1 turbos" with part number 996 123 013 80 and 996 123 014 80 on the build sheet. when you google that part number out, you get a "k24 993 gt2 turbo", which incidentally is the same turbo used in the 993 turbo S.
According to Streather's book, gt1 turbos were the kkk k27 turbochargers not k24. perhaps there was a difference in the street legal and racing gt1 that had different turbos? any turbo and andial experts out there can comment on this?

The K24 GT1 EVO turbos use the same street or CS K24 GT2 turbos and X50's power option 97-98 993tt. Did my homework a while ago and got confirmation from a 993 GT2 EVO owner in North York, ON, Canada. Big differences in ECU's, The GT1 EVO & GT2 EVO use programable Tagtronic ECU versus the GT2CS & street GT2's use -85 Motronic ECU's. I run a pair of K24's in my 993tt with a factory Bosch -85 Motrotronic ECU and never looked back.
