Don (911/Q45),
I believe you are to blame for this entire brake conversion. I think it was you who pointed out that the "Big Reds" didn't look so big behind those 19" wheels, and how, using some new math, big brakes would be almost free. Please post your address so I can send you the bill. Track? Are you nuts? I'll get my shiny new yellow calipers all dirty!
Scott,
The install went well. The stainless lines didn't fit the rear, so I still have the rubber lines back there. After a bit more driving, I'll do another brake bleed... the pedal is a little soft and pumps up.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I've had a hard time keeping this a secret until I could spring it on the board. The rear brakes, BTW are stock Big Reds... painted yellow with Ruf decals. This is the way Ruf sold the big brake kits 10 years ago. I was a bit disappointed to learn that the rears were the same size as stock.
I'll try to get out ASAP and get some decent pictures. The next step is alignment... with an eye towards lowering the car about 1/2". I just want to make sure I don't introduce some geometry issues that will detract from the handling. The other concern is that Ruf front spoiler is pretty darn low already.
Yehaw. Maybe next year Santa will get me those Ruf Sport Seats?

OK... the light is on the wrong side, but here are a few "compositions" to tide us over, and to try to make up for that messy garage picture!

No need to mail the bill Steve, just call our toll free number and we'll credit your account. 1-800-328-7448 That's the same # I have on my license plate frame for people who would like to contact me and critique my driving.

Nice bud-dee!
Steve absolutely PROMISED me that he would take Rufus to the track with me this year. If I remember correctly he said something about showing that scofflaw James Brady how to really drive.....

Jimmy the Felon,
Do NOT listen to Scott... my exact words were "I can beat Jimmy the Felon at Wiilow Springs, assuming I have something decent to drive, and he is a pedestrian". Really.

Steve,
Mi Amigo the brakes are awesome. Good job!
R
P.S.
Ruf cars love running open road races. Come join me? You won't need the brakes but bling never hurts!

Very nice Steve. Love the yellow against the Arena Red.
And yes that mess in your garage makes me nervous that something is going to fall on your beautiful car.
