Santa got these used Ruf brakes from Rennlister Ima2nr. Rennlister Chris Walrod had new hats manufactured for me, and the brakes are finally on! I'll have to wait for daylight for pix of the car, but here are a few during the install. Note that the Big Reds look pretty dinky next to the 380mm floating rotors. And look how nice yellow looks with arena red. Yehaw! Thanks Kevin. Thanks Chris, Thanks Santa.

Congrats Steve, RUFUS is looking HAWTER than ever. Did Chris Walrod refinish the calipers too? Cuz they look brand new... BTW, what did Kevin get for his new brakes? New set of RUF?

Thanks Tony.
Yes, Kevin stepped up to the latest version of the big Ruf Brembos. EXTREMELY NICE brakes on his car.
I just got these in my horribly messy garage:

Tony,
Tested them? This was strictly a cosmetic upgrade... the Big Reds are excellent brakes. I was just feeling self conscience about them after the nasty comments and "new math" by Don (911/Q45). Seriously, you might only see shorter stopping distances after the 50th hard stop at the track.
Jay,
I don't know about the piston sizes, but the pads are huge, so I would suspect the pistons are larger. Chris Walrod handled the engineering and farmed out the fabrication. Contact him if you need details.
Sebastian,
I'm anxious to get Rufus out for some new shots.

Those rotors are monsters! No need for a spare tire, just drive home on those rotors![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here are a few images of the process. Sorry for the image of the chunk-o-aluminum -- for some reason it bleached when I transfered it from one camera to another..

TB993TT,
I didn't weigh them, but they feel lighter than stock. I think the aluminum hats tip the scales over to their favor.
<edit> I was only thinking of the weight of the rotor/hat combos. When you toss in the weight of the bigger caliper... I have no idea.
Tom,
Don't tease me about that garage mess. We have the only garage in the neighborhood with 3 cars inside a 3-car garage. Well... 2.5 cars. The Scion isn't quite a real car.
