Post New Billet Titanium Compressors for our 993's

I have just received the new compressor wheels for our KKK's. I have posted the sizes on the 996TT forum listing the sizes. In reference to the sizes please note the larger compressor wheel, we are using this single wheel for over 650hp applications at less that 2350 Rpm's, with over 1800 ft/pounds of torque.

The wheel on the far right is made out of Billet Forged Titanium, during testing it is found to be 30 times stronger than the factory cast wheel. The Billet aluminum wheel though not as strong, is plenty stong to allow our turbo's to be run in a overspeed condition. This allows us to keep our lower end and add more boost at the upper RPM's..

I am very interested in the titanium wheel. My question is whould it be better to modify my K24's or do my original K16's? My K24's are from FVD and they are modified too. What kind of gain can I expect from the titanium wheels over my K24's?

John;

The questions that come up initially are:

1) What engine mods do you have right now, Cats, ECU, Exhaust and so on?

2) What HP level is your engine at right now?

3) You mention that you already have modified K24's. We need to know what size the compressor wheels are right now.

Without knowing what you have right now, I can't give you any info on performance gains.

Here is what I have done tomy car.
102mm P&C
Carillo Rods
FVD cams
FVD mechanical lifters
FVD turbos
FVD cat bypass
The FVD stuff is there 525 hp kit. I have no idea what the spec are on the turbo. The best estimated performance for my car is a 100-200 kph test I did recently that resulted in times of about 6 seconds. What do you think the titanium wheels willdofor me? Is it better to modify the k16s or k24s?
Thanks
John

Another question thats also been asked on your 996 turbo thread. Can you modify k27s with a titanium wheel? If so what performance gains will there be?
Thanx

Thanx

John;

You definately have done a few engine mods. I'm curious if you have installed flame rings to keep your heads and liners from moving around? The question still is how large your existing K24's are. Can you find out from FVD. How much boost do you want to run? With these mods and the larger 102's you'd be better with the K24's for a starting point.
