Talking Looking for a TT

Hi All,
I have been Lurking around the forum for about 6 months learning and gathering information in anticipaton of a TT purchase.

Well that day has arrived and I can now start looking in ernest. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

The one thing that I have been unable to find is what options were available as new besides sport seats and full or supple leather.

Can you guys help a guy out or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Pete K

These cars came pretty well equiped - although you can add $30k+ in options to almost any Porsche. Once you look at a few 993TT's you soon realize which options are important to you - heated seats maybe - or the M030 suspension. When you call dealers always ask to be emailed a picture of the options sticker under the hood - there are option decoders you can find that will help you work out what all the options are. Also join carfax and run every vin number for any car you are interested in - worth every penny.

If you want a second opinion on a car, feel free to email me (I noticed you are in Seattle).

Here's a link to the option codes:

Personally, I think the sport seats are a must have option. Do some archive searches as well, many people have talked about what they consider important options.

Jeff....If you don't mind me asking, what color combo is your car. The interior appears to be Marble Grey/Blue from the photos, but it's hard to tell. The car looks AWSOME.

SteveL1..

It's a dual color scheme. I haven't seen too many p-cars with a dual color scheme. Usually, it's just a solid color ( usually black ).

I think that the two tone color scheme adds some very nice contrast to the interior. I don't know the exact names of the colors, I probably should take a look at my options sticker sometime!

Thanks for the replies, I agree that sport seats are an important option and I think that I will hold out for them if at all possible. It seems that most the cars came pretty well equipt with most of the important options like the Litronics and the trip computer.

Jeff, I also like your interior colors.

Andy, thanks for the offer. If I find a car in this area I'll let you know. Any chance we could hook up some day for a ride or look at?

My first choice is a Silver/Black or Gray interior and hope to hold out for that. My dad had a silver 74 911 that I loved as a kid.

To bad I'm not looking for black, the one that came for sale on Rennlist today looks Sweet.

Thanks again,

They all come with Litronics and a trip computer - I told you they were optioned well :-) honestly, almost any 993TT you get, you will be really happy with.

I have black and in Seattle it's very tough to keep clean - I would have got silver but we have a silver Jeep and the wife didn't want two silver cars -sign- I just pay for cleaning more often.

I have heard that 'bright' interiors don't do well in Seattle (my personsal fav. is midnight blue/tan interior) - it seems that anything other than black interior is tough to sell. Silver / Black is a great combination.

You can come by for a chat / ride anytime - Andy_Glaister@hotmail.com - I live downtown and work in Redmond.

Thanks Andy,
I work in Everett and live out past Echo Falls Golf course (off 522). I am booked up solid this week so I will contact you soon for a look see.

Part of the reason I want a lighter color car is that we plan on moving to Las Vegas in the next year and I plan on keeping this car for life. :-)

Black in the dessert....can you say HOT?

Theo, you have mail.

Thanks guys,
Pete
