Just purchased 96tt (my dream has been reached)and have 245/35 Cs on FM10 wheels available from my soon departed 996. Will they work on the tt if I lower suspension?

Those should fit but I think it requies spacers (don't recall if front/rear or both).

Assuming the FM10's have a reasonably close offset to the factory's, they'll fit.

Well, I put them on the TT and the wheel rubs on the spring and tire rubs on inner wheel well when turning. 1/4" spacer would probably cure the problem, but wheel sets a little too far out now. It's always something.
