Post Modificationsville

I'm a UK modified 951 owner but my Dad owns a 993TT which I am lucky enough to get the use fairly regularly - which at 23 years of age I'm pretty pleased about!

Anyway, we've had the car 5 years now and its getting time for a few choice modifications! We've just fitted a front strut brace and recently Cargraphic muffler boxes and a K&N air filter element. Next is a TechArt 3 spoke steering wheel but engine wise we were thinking of a Turbo S oil cooler kit for reliability before perhaps a Cargraphic ECU or Sport cats?? What do you guys suggest and in what order would you do your mods in from basic stuff like ECU's up to turbo's and an intercooler etc.

Any advice much appreciated!

Check out <a href="http://www.993tt.com" target="_blank">www.993tt.com</a> for some information on modifications.

There's some information on sport cats in the archives here. From what I've read, the jury is still out on their effectiveness based on their price.

The type of mods depends on what you want to do.

If you want more power, then I'd probably do the following mods in this order:
a) turbo S oil cooler
b) upgraded ECU ( from Steve Weiner or FVD )
c) upgraded intercooler
d) upgraded turbos

( Note, you can get a
<a href="http://64.35.111.106/cpx_p93029.htm" target="_blank">450 HP upgrade</a> from <a href="http://www.carnewal.com" target="_blank">www.carnewal.com</a> which includes the turbo/ecu/aux oil cooler )

However, if you want your car to handle better, then I'd get the Bilstein PSS-9 suspension with RS swaybars and monoballs on the rears.

Personally, I'd take handling over higher HP. A well setup underpowered car will usually beat a stock high HP car, depending on the track.

Just a quick follow up on the 450 kit. There is a person in the rennlist classifieds selling this kit used, if you are interested.

Note, I don't have any affiliation with the seller, etc. Just trying to save your a few grand so that you can get your suspension as well.
