Post Prayers Please

Im just writing this about my dad's friend Carl, Owner of Carl's Place, the porsche house. The most competent shop in las vegas for Porsche repairs. i dont have all the details

Silver State Classic Challenge Public Highway road race, september 19th. Carl and his wife were on there way up to go to the 90 mile run. Carl was driving his Silver 993 twin turbo, race preparred 993. I dont know the conditions but i know carl is an excellent driver. Carl Lost control at 90+mph, and his car went off the road. The car tumbled end over end and rolled 12 times, landing on its feet again. During the tumbling, cars left seat bolts broke and he snapped his neck on the rollbar i believe. He also suffered a seperated shoulder. His wife suffered a Broken arm. THey are still looking for a doctor that can put his shoulder back in place.
Im just typing this so that we get some prayers out for Carl and his wife, God bless. Matt

I would think he would need to goto the two following places. Best in country for orthopedics. MAYO CLINIC and HOSPITAL FOR SPECIAL SURGERY.

Good bless them

Though Ellen and I have been avid Porsche enthusiasts/owners for 30+ years, we've not been "regulars" to this message board. We'd like to say thanks for the well wishes and prayers. Since our accident several accounts have been related, in various places, that are not exactly accurate, and may have actually contributed to our current insurance difficulties. We feel that the circumstances described need a bit of factual clarification. We were entered, and running in, the Silver State Classic Challenge when a tire blew out causing the accident. Yes, there were significant injuries including mulitple fractures in the neck, arms and shoulder, however, the seat bolts did not fail, nor did the race seat, nor the belts/harness. Our car insurance company has denied coverage based on a policy exclusion of a "speed contest." We thought we were covered because we were in a rally, not a "race." If anyone has experience that could be helpful in supporting the "rally" vs "speed contest issue we'd certainly appreciate hearing from you (young@intermind.net) Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers, Carl & Ellen
