Willbank, I heard a few stories of guys dynoing their cars after factory 450 bhp upgrades and finding they had closer to 470. Could be myth but might be worth dynoing your car if you really feel there is a massive difference between the 408 and your 430 - you never know...

Ooooh, wouldn't that be nice!

(I didn't mean to sound quite so camp )

Do you (or anybody) know of any reliable AWD dyno's in southern england?

I am gutted that I won't be able to make the Fox & Hounds tomorrow as I sent my mufflers to Gert today... oh, well, carpe diem. Have fun all.

Default UK Turbo Owners

Guys -

is this a mini forum for 993 Black TTs in the UK or wot!!!

I can totally relate to the Metallic Black / Carbon colour, mine's a stock 408 in met Black with Black Leather, seats with carbon backs and some nice Aluminium hints (handbrake, gear ****, techart pedals and turbo sills). And a '98.

Ferrocious with a vengeance, how can you confirm the BHP as my Turbo Boost goes greater than 0.8, i saw it go to 1.1 on the test drive when i was the passenger!! no time to watch the Boost when driving - ain't that a fact

Has anyone had any issues with the Alternator Belt - I've seen a few references to getting the Belts/pulleys updated.....which I thought I did.
However, less than 50 miles later and the new belt snapped - I'm very dissapointed indeed.
I'm waiting for Porsche to get me the official Technical Bulletin reference but it's been a week and no response to my calls.

Always running out of road, bring us the Autobahn.......................

Hi everyone-so glad to hear from other UK owners.
I found the people on this board v.friendly & helpful and made me wish I was in the US as well, but now there are more UK guys we can help each other out.
I use JZ Machtech for my servicing-brilliant guys as 1 guy above said no bull***t, and honest.I trust them with my car100%.

Mine is Midnight blue metallic with grey leather interior and I love it.
Ive been thinking of stiffening the suspension and putting on 993 GT2 wheels- the split rims if I can find any. Also power upgrades like everyone else.
Ive never had a problem with the car(had it about 10 months),and I love it!!! especailly the popping sound of the exhaust on cold start-up,certainly made my neighbours take notice.
I wouldnt swop it for anything apart from maybe the new carrera GT,but not a 996 turbo-I drove a 996-didnt put a smile on my face like the 993 does.

It would be great to see pics of your metallic black and metallic blue Turbos, TTCruz and rich993t. Not sure I've ever seen metallic black on one of these cars.

Hi all,

It's nice to hear from some UK owners of TT's; I think a meet would be great!
As for servicing, I was extremely dissapointed with my local Li**Br**K dealership in Kent. Parr motorsport were at least 100 times better!
I also had the alternator belt issue, infact it went through three in a row after leaving the dealership for servicing. Parr cleaned the pulleys, readjusted and it's been fine ever since.

My car is featured in next months 911 & Porsche world and you'll be pleased to know it's not black but Arena red.

Thumbs up

Hi, from Aberdeen.
Today I traded my C4 993 in against a 993 TwinTurbo (430 bhp upgrade).
It is dark blue with blue leather. I will not get it for about 10 days as I have to go to Moscow on business next week and do not have time to collect.
Am very excited about my new transport!:

Hello,

Glad to see so many UK 993TT owners on the site.

Dave,
Nice purchase on the TT. I think i spoke to you before on pistonheads (re. servicing in Glasgow). Dont think that there are many tt`s in Scotland. Did you get the one from RSJ?

Just brought my new (to me) tt back from France. Can't get the grin off my face! "Le beast" is silver and black w/factory aero kit and 430 bhp upgrade. Must photocopy my license so that I can remember what a clean one looks like!

Congrats, phelix. Now would you UK folks post some darn photos of your cars? This thread's been going since 2002 and not one of you has posted a decent photo!

John H - you got the Carbon Dash, some serious ICE and me likes the Gemballas.......................ECU upgrade - 430bhp?

PS - do you get the rear seat belt fasteners making an impression on the leather with the seats folded? (i got that, so i don't fold the seats too often)

I tried to add a photo but this site is real tight on memory - Can I get an album on the Gallery?

Nice one Phelix - you know it's the distinguished choice!!

I've come to the conclusion that these fine machines need to bless the race tracks once in a while - just to remind you of the definition of speed!!
Bring on the Italian Ladies anyday!!
