993TT Stage II Upgrade
I'm considering a '97 993tt with an Autothority Stage II upgrade. Are there any negatives to this upgrade? Positives? Any long term problems? Anyone have this? Your opinions? Thank you!

Doug,
Many high performance shops have reported that the particular upgrade you are talking about has produced detonation. Detonation will destroy that motor over time. And, there indeed could be detonation that you will not hear.
You may want to contact Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems and Mike Schatz at Schatz Motorsports about that Stage 2 system.

As I said before, call Steve. He has had direct experence with customers that have had that mod.
You might also want to talk to Kevin Buckler at 'The Racers Group' in Sonoma, Ca. A 993TT was in his shop and the pinging was so bad that he could hear it from his office.
