Boost Gauge Idea!

Boost Gauge Idea!
Mostly all of us want a boost gauge in our cars, and mostly all of us, also like the old 935 boost gauge.
Probably this has been discussed before, but no one seems to have grabed the bull by the horns. Why dont we ask Palo Alto or some other VDO specialist to modify a factory 964-993 clock to accept the inner workings of a 935 boost gauge? This way, we would keep all the warning lights, backlite illumination and have a boost gauge.
The factory clock has 2 needles (same as the 935 boost gauge), They only have to custom make a silk screen for the face. Any one else in for one? DO you know of any other shop that would be able to do it? I'll gladdly supply a 935 boost gauge if someone else supplies the factory clock, and if it works out, we can always do a group buy, it would make it more instresting for the shop to go ahead with the proyect.
Just a thought,
David

I will be in for that as well.
I am pretty certain that Ruf has already done this - He offers an analogue boost guage/clock with all warning lights operating. I was tempted but the only problem is it only comes in that dark green finish that Ruf uses and the total cost of buying one from Ruf and getting one back to black wass about $900 form memory. There must be someone making these for Ruf, do any of the German posters know who it is ?

David,
Bummer. They are like the premier shop for that kind of work. Guess 10 or 20 units doesn't give them enough margin.
Please let us know how your other option turns out... Thanks for your efforts.

I'd take one -- why not make it function as a clock and then as a mechanical boost gauge with the flip of a switch somewhere discretely hidden?
I certainly can't get rid of all those idiot lights -- what else would I have to look at whilst driving?
