Post OEM Strut Tower Brace

My $100 off certificate expires on Monday. I was trying to think of what to buy with it when a strut tower brace came to mind.

Is there a reasonably priced OEM strut tower brace I should buy with my coupon?

Thanks!
Hal

I have one on my car, but it came with it, so I can't say how much it helps. I've heard good things about it. Go for it, I'd say.

I know that Porsche makes several different models. What are my choices and pros/cons of each. And how much do they cost?

I added this to my 993 and felt it brought a lot of rigidity to the body ahead of the cowl. A must addition for any 993.

Ive considered the same purchase with my $100 coupon. many have advised me that the non-OEM brace is better quality and better priced. So, i used my coupon for some overpriced interior parts. Just something to consider...

I just had an OMP brace installed with a host of upgrades down to my car. A really beefy looking unit in aluminium and anodized blue (can post pix if you want.) Does make some difference. Turns in with better feel. I paid USD$223.00 for mine but you should be able to get it for less as past experience has shown parts cost a lot more where I am.

cheers,
Kris

Any first hand experience before and after installing a strut tower brace?

I just got an aluminium one on ebay for a good price and cant wait to installing it.

Can anyone explain me the (theoretical) effect on the driving behaviour of the car? Is it only good for cornering or does it also has an effect on high speed stability?

- if it does not at least it looks nice

Strummel,

And seach the 993 forums, there's tons of info. For most people, this was one of their first "upgrades". I'd also look into the front protection bar from www.carnewal.com while you are at it.
