this happened to me
check the rear light housing the blinker and taillight have the same plug, they are likely switched
so the blinker is plugged into the taillight and the taillight into the blinker.

It was working perfectly before last night. Now the the left arrow stays on but the signal doesn't work. And the right signal is going blinking like crazy.

I had the same prob. I took the car in to the shop and it worked fine. A month later the blinker stated doing the same weird thing. I swapped the plugs and it's OK now. Makes no sense but I speak the truth. WEIRD right !!

i have a similar , but, different issue ... sorry to hijack, but it seems your problem is solved...

my left taillight and left fog light are out when i put the headlights on. BUT, they both blink, when i use the left turn signal. Is this a fuse?

I just had the signals problem happen this weekend. Both flasher indicators on the dash (and the corresponding exterior lights) come in and out w/o switching (and can *stay* on while the car is off.
I think it may be a short caused by a broken window switch, or tied to a rarely used sunroof switch.

I am in diagnosis mode as well. Any help is appreciated.

Just open them up and found that these 2 plugs are not the same as you said. One have 2 prongs and the other have 3. All the bulbs are fine. The only time these signals act up is when the head lights turned on. NUTZ

A regular auto electric place can do wonders of troubleshooting for a minor price, give them a shot.

Play around w/ your turn signal switch. See if the high beams go on both ways, and make sure they don't get stuck on. I'm not saying this is defnitely the problem, I have not seen the turn signal switch give much trouble on 993s personally, but it is a common problem on old 911s, and on 986/996, where the switch is a cheap piece of ****. Good luck.
