Default Blowout Pics

Thought you guys might appreciate these (or cringe quietly to yourselves). Happened in a Motorway coming into London at 1am last week... painful!

Anyway, after four days without my car she's back (but not fully healthy), and in the first 100m of driving her home, I fell in love with her all over again. My girlfriend's looking over my shoulder pouting and making huffing noises... apparently I don't talk about her like that...

Anyway... here they are...

Isn't getting towed like that going to wreck the differential/transfer?

It was only towed like that for a few metres - it conked out in the middle of a very dangerous roundabout and had to be moved there and then. We couldn't get it on a flat-bed as the blown tyre wouldn't let the rear clear the ramp...

After that it was on with the space-saver and over to the Porsche-centre.

Don't worry... no damage and she still drives just right

Well just picked up a nail, slow leak , low pressure and then boom! Departed freeway backwards at 40mph. Missed a nice metal sign by about 3 in. Just should not be able to die from a flat!

How many bottles of Fix-A-Flat will it take to seal that one up?

Incidents like these make me think a tire pressure monitoring system (ala http://www.smartire.com ) is a good investment!
