Here you go. Weight in lbs:
Front seat (comfort, normal) each 52.5
Bucket seat (RS) including mounts, each 30.5
Recaro Pole Position including mounts, each 28.0
Cobra Misano R, each 23.0
Remember seatbacks 2 and 3 are non-reclining, so you'd lose use of the rear seats/shelf.

why do we buy these cars? we want to be KING of the street!

I love the brutal acceleration on the way to the grocery store, and I realize that I cannot spend my weekends at the track. (i have 3 teenagers) -I have been to the track before, I've raced at road atlanta, and Talladege grand prix (the motorcycle track, not the NASCAR one), I've done auto crossing, and used to be a street racer years ago (I was stupid).

I just want to "play" witht the car, and the idea of making something "better" is exciting... if it was just about "racing"... we would all buy an identical car... go race against the same model car and see who is the best DRIVER, not who is the best driver & car builder/ designer combo... just my .02 cents.

CHEERS!

You are starting with the wrong car.

If in fact you are really serious and want to build a "King of the street" car you better start with a 911 SC or 964 shell and go from there. It will certainly meet your criteria of lightness and if properly modified will be stiffer (bodywise) than the 993tt.

Everything else is just reverse engineering and will not provide the same results, however it will require a major $$$$ commitment and I bet that 95 % of rennlist posters would get tired real quick in that sort of a street car because there is raw and there is RAW.

Maybe you fall in the remaining 5 % but don't count on it if you never had a smelly, harsh, noisy, groaning and brutally uncomfortable race car for the street before.

RUF can source the aluminum doors, but i would like to avoid the 'RUF TAX' if I can... please specify where/ how to get them.
Aluminum doors are no longer available from the factory (Porsche Motorsports). They are a 959 part number and carried a price of 17k DM EACH. The factory GT2 race cars came with them but were removed or butchered to make way for the Nascar roll cage side bars. I found one from Willie Brombecker at FVD in Germany. The other from Porsche Motorsports.
Buying the doors is just the tip of the iceberg. Painting and fitting will double the price. Also the door closers are too stiff and will cause damage to the door. Next to my engine, the doors were the most expensive mod I've done but I saved 40 lbs. Some 959 is going to need a door one of these days and that will be when I sell em.$$$.

ANDYT -

I didn't think you were bashing, quite the opposite... and I hope you didn't take my post as rude...

I was justr expressing how I really feel. no worries...

For future refrence... I'm not here to "slam" or "bash"- ever... I know I'm new... get a chance to know me...

I do want to learn, and when I was shopping for a car, I got a diffrent response from the fellow listers... I was advised the suspension geometry was much improved it the 993tt, and it would be a much better car to own long term... but I don't care... I love the RUF I just bought, it is fast, but I've had a taste of faster cars, and my need for speed over rides sanity.

I need new turbos, less weight, and a 100 shot of NOS!!!!
j/k on the 100 shot of NOS... I'd never go with less than a 200 shot... (100 shot is for rice burners)

for the record - I love rice burners --- they taste great!

seriously - I used to own Honda/ Mitsubishi/ import performance shop for about 6 years, and I was a mechanic (Audi, BMW, Honda) for about 17 years.

My last Honda made 422 hp at the wheels on 93 octane gas running approx .9 bar -never ran it with racing fuel.... i couldn't put all the power to the ground at 400hp, 600hp would have been worse.
i have pictures, dyno sheets, etc somewhere... I lost interest when i started buying exotics... sold it for pennies...

You can buy CF parts from Ruf as follows:

front lid €1950
front wings (each) €1280
doors (each) €2320

No idea about what the weight savings is but it'll lighten your wallet by €9200 ~= $12000 just for the parts, never mind painting and installation. Course, if the finish is good enough, don't bother adding weight back in by painting them!
