New video with Extreme cars
Hi again guys, here is a video from Gatebil Trackday with nearly 40.000 spectators in July and about 7.000 i September when this video was taken.
Gatebil Extreme gathers the most extreme streetcars i Scandinavia and most of the competitors have 600 - 1000 hp.
Enjoy.

Loved the video...some of the drivers looked like they were having some fun drifting

Now I know that the insanity comes from the Norwegian in my geneology! Those drifters must go through a few sets of tires in a day. It was pretty clear that wasn't the fastest way around the track, but looked like some serious fun.

The car has around 500 hp, but more than 750 Nm torque. KKK 24 turbos and RUF cams. The weight is 1450 kg. I drive to and from work, to and from my holiday resort in the mountains of Trysil and finally get great pleasure on trackdays. I enjoy every ride in it!

OK I'm so confused.....
The track seemed very short for some very high powered cars and not complimentary for 500+hp cars...in the video I can hear you getting on it hard and then immediately on the brakes...
Then there was a mix of guys trying to drive properly like you and the R34 GTR Skyline driver, then other guys like the Audi Quattro and the Cosworth Escort drifting like mad and then other guys like the red 996 driver doing both! Not too mention all the track run-offs from "over" drifting and spraying other cars with rocks and pebbles.
Sorry but the video was not my thing...as I did not get it all.

I thought the opposite... this is now my favorite video... all the drivers were having a blast... some were showing out, and some were showing off.
i didn't see any accidents... looks like a perfect day at the track (unless your were the guy that broke down just after the 2nd start...)
HANS -
PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR ENGINE SET UP! your car was pulling harder than a freight train!

Do many guys drift with TTs. I have never heard of this. Looks like fun, but not for me...I love the video. A friend of a friend does videos of cars and is coming over on Saturday to do a video for my car. I am also curious of the camera mounts, or was most of it handheld? anyways great video.
Turbodan
He has a bmw video I can post a link to if anyone is interested...not sure as not p car.

Hans,
Spectacular video!!! one of the best I have seen.
Is the Red 996 GT2 stock?? he is quite the drifter!
Is the red Audi one of the little short Quattro Sports?? (Kevlar bodied car homolgated for
Group B).
Looks like alot of fun!!! You have a wonderful car with the cleanest track wheels I have ever
seen!

Hans,
Once agian an entertaining video of a simply stuning car! Excellent footage. Stange that hey would have drifters and all different classes of cars all together - WAY COOL!!
Slownrusty - The Skyline is an R32 - not an R34!!
Best Simon.

What's the thrill?
I understand your confusion guys. Gatebil (Streetcars) is an organisation that organise trackdays in Scandinavia. In the class "Extreme" all sorts of extreme cars "compete". It is not unlike american wrestling, each driver shall provide show for the audience.
All cars are specially invited, and the little red audi for instance, is a tubeframe car weighing 800 kg and has 800 hp. The blue Audi s2 has an IMSA engine with 705 hp. The drifting Escort is an ex rallycross car with 873 hp and 1000 kg. The 996 GT2 is fairly stock (chip) and has semislicks front and ordinary tires in the rear.
As you can see, most of the drivers like to drift and make tire smoke. The audience like that. My thrill is to drive faster than the other cars and to produce loads of G-forces. My passengers love that. My thrill is also, as you may have understood, to make videos showing the Porsche to beat them all.
