993 wide body look (700hp '88 3.4liter twin plug proto conversion)
Ok, I just ran across this car on ebay....
wide by Patrinni design 700hp 993tt 3.4l twin plug
I'm looking for a 993tt modified (500hp conversion)
this guy wants 75-80k
clean carfax -he has owned it (fla car) since 1994. (two owners) statrted life as a 930 turbo. has pictures of the rebody statrt to finish(says car was perfect before, he just love the body kit.)
please tell me why/ why not this car is a bad choice. it looks great, but that is not always the entire story.... thanks for your input!

Ima2nr,
Too bad this car isn't a "true" 993TT. It has great componetry, and I'm sure AWESOME performance, but it will always be a car with a long story to go with it This may be a great car for the right person, but I believe you are looking for a car you can drive and enjoy, and this car, with huge horsepower, will also have a number of headaches and drivability issues. I say "kewl"... but move on. IMHO.

What sort of car are you looking for? If what you are after is a 500HP 993TT, this is far from being one. I have a similar car (not my 3.8TT in the picture) with a similar engine, bored to 3.5 etc..This is not a 993TT. You can certainly have a lot of fun with it, but it is not your cruising daily driver. The suspension does not compare to a 993 no matter what you do to it, I just spent $10k on mine excluding shocks.
It is a LOT of fun, but no 993TT with 500HP. Power steering, clutch, decent A/C, comfort, smooth turbo spool up, SOUND, etc.. are all different. If you like humiliating bigger and newer sportscars, then this might be a good choice, otherwise, no, in any case it is far from looking like a sleeper.
Engines are good and strong as long as they are run with care, the boost controller is a destruction machine in the wrong hands.
Finally, forget true 700HP from a 3.4.

Its tempting for the engine but its not a 993TT... just looks like one.
Hes after alot for a 930 conversion.. basically 993TT money.
If you dont think you will think 'i should of bought a real one' after you have driven it then maybe it will be a blast to drive....but then again how much is a 500-600 993TT go for? Not much more and then youll have everything youll want. Well thats never quite true...

700Hp on a 3.4L ? I 'd ask to see a dyno graph. It seems like everything coming from Prototech is claiming 700+hp.
Why pay for the replica parts, for that amount of money I'd buy a real low mileage 993tt then upgrade it with Kevin's power kit and call it a day.

[QUOTE=Miles965uk]Ah Jean I am temped to wack it in... but I have a 3.8 FVD P&C kit lying around that I wouldnt mind putting in
Miles, I would like to get some feedback from you once your 3.8 FVD P&C's are installed. This is the set up I have and I would like to compare notes.

I had a 3.2L with over 700+ HP. Close to 740 if I remember. 700 from 3.4 is very possible. I do understand that it seems to be the norm nowdays. Its in build. 700+ from 3.2 was no off the shelf parts and not cheap!
