Hi I am back in the market for a 993TT in Yellow. I used to own one but sold it a while back. Please reach out if your considering selling or will pay a finders fee if someone sends me a lead on one I end up buying off market as well.

Thanks
Corey

Default Pre purchase is a must. Especially with electrical nightmare on this cars

Doing a deep pre purchase inspection is a must to say the least. This cars are and been an electrical nightmare as well documented information out there thats Avialable. As your technician to make you a list of items to look for. My point is that this cars wire harness delaminates , also the connectors with time become so brittle. The immobilizer is garbage and will leave you stranded. One thing I’ve learn true many years of owning and working on this cars is that, all your grounds get corrosion because going from hot to cold weather creates moisture that decreases your connections, that creates false readings on your Dme and relays. That’s a huge problem among many you will encounter. This is my opinion but it comes with 45 years of owning this cars. Just my 2 cents with a world of caution. Thanks

Lord I just bought one of these (993 Turbo)--my first-- and it is being delivered in a couple weeks--reading this I hope I don't get bit too hard here lol. Mine went through the Porsche Classic Restoration process so hoping I get a little fun out of it before any major problems...fingers crossed. I do intend to check to see if the harness was replaced as it was subject to a TSB back in the day.
As to the immobilizer, what is the best way to address that issue? thanks in advance

true the years some people by pass the immobilizer but you are risking theft or making it easier to be stolen. There’s a few companies in USA that provide that by pass service. I one 2 of this cars and already replace engine wire harness due to melting positive wire at the alternator becomes brittle from excessive heat. Have a good electrical tech look at your Dme harness, that’s where most of the problems begin. I’ve seen from pushed pins, broken pins etc. I’ll post a comprehensive list of known electrical issues soon.
