Default Carrillo rod installation help

We are now closing my engine cases and have changed stock rods to Carrillo rods. I just want to confirm that have I positioned them right? Each rod has mark X on their bearing notch side. See pictures. #4-#6 are pointing down and #1-#3 pointing up in my installation. I remembered that original were like that but I'm not 100% sure..
I have asked help from Carrillo Inc (many times) but they never answered..

The "X"'s go together, pair with matching #'s. I always have my "X"'s or numbers facing up.
Although it doesnt really matter if you have them facing up or down.

I found from my old project photos the picture of original 993TT rods and they were just like I remembered: numbers 1-3 the bearing notch pointing up and numbers 4-6 pointing down.
I can't either understand why it is like that and does it really matters but now I don't have worry because they are on the same way
Maybe this logic has something to do with engine's rotation direction, wiser can tell..

The reason is, you assemble the crankshaft lying down with the all the numbers lying on one side..

You will have all the rods in one plain with all the number showing.. This proceedure has been used all the way back to air-cooled VW days..

Again if you flip your NOT "X" rod over to the other side, all the numbers will align..

Do you have to machine the oil pump in order to fit the Carrillo rods or Arrow rods?

With the Carrillo's you do have to "trim" the oil pump.

Yes, I had to machine them. There was the machining picture for oil pump mod with Carrillo papers.

Thanks. My project's main leader and product's supplier has been Chris Carroll from TurboKraft.
Car's specs are almost same than in the Marc's project, except my engine is 3.8 Ltr..
See those specs and others from
TurboKraft
I highly recommend that guy if you want true power increase
