Default Check Engine:OBDII Code "121 Load Detection"

Anyone had this come up when the check engine light is on? More importantly, does anyone know what causes it and most importantly the best way to fix things so it doesn't show back up?

Hi,

unfortunately I can't help you with this issue (yet).

What program and OBD tool do you use for read fault codes??

I have OBD-DIAG 4000 tool which support 11 different protocols, but I haven't found working program yet.

I really would like to open heart of my tt

That is not a proper OBD2 code. What mods do you have done to your car?? It looks like Fabspeed bypasses.

The load error is generally caused by a number of factors in the car looking at different inputs and not seeing corresponding values on the other sensors. Some possible causes are a bad MAF (input signal does not correspond then to the throttle position sensor, and other stuff), too much HP (when you get too much HP in these cars the ECU has set parameters of values that if they are outside the range will causes error codes) and other things. You need a more definitive code though that is a true OBD2 value....

viperbob: You're not suggesting that the bypasses are the possible cause of the load error?

What are your wastegates set at? Did they get jacked up.. How much boost are you seeing on a real gauge?

The bypasses by themselves will not cause any issues. A car that has them may have more mods that could be a cause of the problem..

No more mods other than what JRG did prior to my ownership. I did have had Joel Reiser do his breather re-work tho. I have ym OBDII scan tool now and I am going to try a little cleaner on the MAF this weekend. If that doesn't do it I'm going to replace the MAF. And if that doesn't work I'm going to be at a loss for new ideas.
