Campy

While recently polishing my car it seems like my pads are turning yellow (I have a Sept 1996 build Speed Yellow TT) ... it sure seems that the paint is single stage with no clear coat. Anyone know if this is correct or when Porsche started using a clear coat process? Maybe because my paint is a non-metallic? Any help would be appreciated!
