I believe the procedure to R/R the slave on the TT is the same as on the NA 993. That is where the similarity ends between the two models. The system on the TT is described in sections 30.1-30.10 of the TT service manuals. This included testing procedures and very detailed diagrams of the system. I could not find a specific R/R procedure for the TT or the NA 993 in a very quick glance, but I can make a more in depth look tomorrow if it would be helpful.

Thanks Tom......I found the info you describe in the TT manual. Not altogether helpful but....I have got a lot of tips on Rennlist (I love you guys) . My understanding is that the N/A 993 slave setup is totally different and is not part of the shared steering hydraulic system like the TT clutch slave cylinder....in fact, my former N/A 993 didn't have the Pentosin Slave Cylinder Reservoir underneath the front hood.

Anyhow........tomorrow I plan on stage 1:

-depressurize system by pumping the clutch many times (super easy)
-get the car on jack stands (very easy)
-lower the engine and tranny on their mounts (near the end of the studs) to buy myself a couple extra inches of working space (kinda easy?)
-remove slave (after I locate it) and accumulator--(Not so easy). (NEW TOOLS BOUGHT-> set of MAC flare nut wrenches for the hydraulic line......found in Pawn Shop today at good price)...I love an excuse to buy new tools.
-drink beer (easy)

Well...that my plan...we will see....any comments good or bad welcome......Maybe I will document and to a DIY...if my wife will let me take the camera under the car for several hours..Marc

Lowering the gearbox & engine is something most people don't do and that is why it usually takes them forever. With the 2-3 inches of extra clearance you can get this done real quick. A set of ratcheting wrenches (or just a 13mm) will also speed things up.

Resist the temptation to move this step up in the order of operations, despite enormous urges to do so!
