Default Opinions on painting wheel centres

I want to buy a set of Cargraphic racing wheels and in an attempt to make them show the dirt up less am considering painting the centres the same colour (iris blue) as my car. Below is a pic of mjims old car which seems to be black with dark grey centres - I think it looks awesome, but am not sure how iris centres would look.
I'd love some opinions please

I like the wheels to contrast with the car color, not match.

I think blue on blue might be pushing it. I like black centres on a silver car f'rinstance. Maybe black wheels (not that design with the thick polished rim, though) would contrast.
I'm not a big fan of polished (let alone chromed) wheels.
I like the SX3R with a black centre and polished rim (not a lot of thickness in that rim design, but as wide as the offset allows.
Which wheel are you looking at from CG?

I like Black center (better than matching car color) in those wheels or maybe a silver grey
center ??

BTW, love the wing TB!!!

TB - that is one beautiful car you have! Not a big fan of wheel color matching paint unless the car is silver or black.

I'd paint them charcoal grey, trying to match the dark centers that came with the 993 GT2.

Gun metal would look good. TB993TT, did you have the super cups on there before?

Thanks for the replies - there seems a bit of confusion. The black car with the big GT2 wing is NOT my car, I was showing it as an example of painted centres.
CAHRERA
Yes I did run the "supercup" look, GT2 Speedline mags - proved too fragile.

So opinions seem to be same colour (iris) would not be a good look but maybe a gun metal/grey finished centre would look of with the iris blue paint of my car ?
Thanks for the feedback

Any more is welcome.

TB,

I have a few sets of wheels like yourself... My car is Blk and i have one set with black centres and one set with silver centres..... I like the silver better myself - but - it could be the fact that the silver ones (Champion 19's) have a 4" lip - I just think they brighten the car up...... I also have a buddy with CG 19's silver centres with a PS 996TT and it looks HOT!! Silver gets my vote......

Some gratutious pics.....

Best
Simon

I think the gold Speedlines (?) look excellent already. I think you'd be better off going for gunmetal or black if you make the change.

Guys

Thanks for the thoughts - I am going to get the wheels painted gunmetal centres and fully anodised for protection on the rims, I prefer the darkness of the gunmetal as it doesn't show the cr&p up as much as lighter colours, and I hate cleaning these damn things !
Someone of Pistonheads very kindly did this photoshop for me
