Does it "plug" right in ? The website says it's compatable with Bosch ECUs ..

Looks like an OBDII logger. The Porsche model listed is the 996 . I would ask the question whether it works with a 993. I suspect the answer is no.

The Porsche_911 template you see available in the AIM dash manager software is a communication template to talk to the 996tt over CAN. The 993 does not have CAN, nor any other means to communicate directly to the AIM Sports loggers. OBD II is a very slow protocal and not practical to use for data logging or communication to other devices such as a MoTeC or AIM dash. It simply is not fast enough.
MS_3 and MS_4 are communication templates for the Bosch Motorsport ECUs found in the GT3 Cup car and GT3RSR.

Yes I have the MXL Pista, it was a nightmare to install and by far the worse company I ever dealt with as far as support is concerned. I went around the world looking for their help because I could not connect to the laptop, then it turned out to be their poor quality USB cable that was at fault ,they did not even bother replacing it for free. The US outfit seems to be good however and they were more helpful. The mother company in Italy is a junkyard (to put it nicely) as well as their Australia dealer.
I have it installed and now will remove everything unused and sell it with a bunch of sensors and cables that I bought. Never been used. The AX22 is so much easier and practical.
Let me know if you are planning to buy one, you will get a good deal.
Cheers

Jean and Geoffrey that's some great info. Glad I asked before plunking down the credit card. I have found another GPS system that a freind is using in his 993 RSR. It's made by MSD. Check it out let me know what you think.
