yeah, not sure if it was something in my thread about turbos and hp or his post earlier regarding his set up and a kit available from Todd K - would guess it was the latter...

Won't happen. Not on Rennlist.. If whoever wants to pay for a
Sponsorship, rather than use others to "promote their products" - I would be
open for that conversation.
However - my Members and Sponsors won't be railroaded into any
promotion by a Non-Sponsor. That includes Todd at Protomotive.

I enjoyed his posts and his take on tuning although IMO he was so far off the mark most of the time, it was amusing.
Hopefully we will eventually see some of his real acceleration numbers on 6Speed - maybe I will have to eat my words

well, i hope he come back for 'normal dialogue'.
If Todd really is behind this, id love to see Todd become a rennlist sponsor and share his knowledge .. which im sure would be a treat for everyone.

I do not know the reasons or anything about this but TOM H (K-24) was/is the most knowledgable
non-sponsor on this board in regards to understanding the 993TT motor and how to get power
out of it (what works and what doesnt). This is a shame that one cannot challenge
the sponsors. Often times the sponsors get some lattitude that is not conducive to
"fair market practices"
I am sorry to hear this!!!

I don't know all the details, but if someone got banned for posting their experiences and views I would have to question that.
First of all why were these boards even started? So that people can SHARE their EXPERIENCES with others, good and bad....
So now your saying if I use a tuner and my car runs great, I need to see if they are a sponsor before I can post and share my experiences good or bad with them? That's crazy.... So I guess if I have a bad experience with a sponsor I will be reprimanded for posting that to since it may cost them business too.
I can understand if a tuner is on the boards soliciting business without paying sponsorship, a definite issue. But to say that a member can't post his experiences and say who his tuner is unless they are a sponsor is totally against why we even post here. If I use a tuner and am satisfied with my results I would want to share that with others so that they can make educated decisions based on someone else's similar experiences, good or bad... That's what it is all about..
It seems that the almighty dollar and politics are seeping there way into all these car boards... It has in others that's for sure, I thought this was the place where information exchange was king...

Yeah, Rob. He does have lots to "share". Just for information sake, not affiliated, YMMV, yada, yada....you could always log into his forum at Protomotive.com and ask specific questions about a particular problem and he has always answered. He really is a nice guy and so is his wife......maybe I can email him and ask if he would want to be a member/sponsor?? Very knowledgeable!

I still don't get it?....he was posting for the purpose of "to sell" products and bc not a sponsor got banned. I thought as a member you could post "to sell" and it was OK. Sorry to see anyone who is not a jerk get the boot. But this forum has been amazingly helpful and informative to me and is run great, so I figure if there is a way to let him back in the powers that be will do so after he is finished with his "time out"....but I kinda have to second what Gary said above...FWIW....
