Default Maxflow or Muffler Bypass

Thinking of getting Fabspeed Maxflow mufflers or the Fabspeed Sport muffler bypass I have not heard either system in person. Just wanted some opinions from anyone here that has experience with these.

I have Fabspeed Maxflows on my car now, and they're just right for me. Just slightly louder than stock, and no resonance. I also have a set of Fabspeed muffler bypasses, but I only had them on the car a short time, as they we're too loud for me, and some resonance at low RPMs. But that's for street driving. Throttle response and spool-up seems a little better with them. For track I would definately use the muffler bypasses.

Having said all that, I think I am in the minority, as a lot of turbo owners love them, even for the street, so I'll defer to my So Cal buddies Steve, Scott, Addison, etc. for their contrary view.

weight is the enemy of speed, ditch the mufflers, by-pass for me.

While the sound of the bypasses is purely subjective (I like them, even with the 100 cell Ruf sport cats), there's no denying that they save weight, reduce backpressure, and allow better cooling airflow to the turbos. If your signature carried some sort of a hint of where you lived... who knows, someone may offer you a trial set... they're really easy to install.

Paul:

If you narrow your interest in the Fabspeed bypasses, I have a set I am about to put up for sale. PM me if you are interested.

I have the Fabspeed bypass and love them. They make the car sound great and they save a lot of weight.

Got Bypasses also, really like them.
However, check allowed noise levels at your local track before heading there. I've seen more than one Porsche getting banned due to noise levels...

The cool thing about a turbo and muffler bypasses is that as the turbo spools more, it kind of gets quieter (relatively speaking from the exhaust and yes there is more noise from the RPMs etc) So when nearing the sound meters, instead of lifting or upshifting like and NA car, FLOOR IT... Still would not pass 91 DB sound levels though. Many stock cars can't.

My preference are the Bypass pipes. Why carry around the weight of mufflers when not nessesary? As Bob said, the faster you go, the quieter they get. I have absolutely no resonance at 75 on the interstate, so trips with the wife are great!
