Default Winter wheels - bad, dark pics

The BBS race Alis just were such a PIA to keep clean. As a daily driver it meant washing after EVERY trip. The winter salty roads were trashing them very quickly.
In an attempt to get more traction and mindful of needing some strong Porsche wheels I bought these - '04 GT2
8.5" X 18ET 40 with 235/40 Michelin N2
12" X 18ET 45 with 315/30 Michelin N2
7mm shim spacers on each corner.
Unsprung weight - up 17kg Not having to wash the wheels after every trip priceless

These pics don't really do them justice, I will do some more in the light.

How has your car handled the salty conditions? I've been taking the car out once in a while when the roads are clear of salt, but I do get caught from time to time in the salt. I'm afraid more of the areas I can't see like the enginer hardware, exhaust hardware, etc. I have my undertray in place in hopes that it will protect the engine area from the salt.

TB993TT,
I don't understand... why would the BBS wheels get dirtier after a drive than the GT2 wheels you just put on. The amount of road grime, brake dust or whatever doesn't depend on the wheel, does it? I understand the salty roads and not wanting them to corrode.
I ask because I am considering the BBS aluminum race wheels with a silver center in the future.
TIA

They were not getting dirtier, just harder to clean because the BBS are mesh, as opposed to the 10 spoke design.

Not only are they impossibly hard to clean 'cos of the mesh design, but they have to be cleaned after EVERY journey whilst the painted Porsche wheels obviously can be left to get filthy.
Further, the brake dust seemed to really impreganate the untreated surface and stick fast to the painted unlaquered gold centres - the muck just falls off the painted wheels

The salt does seem to rot everything, the tin work (heat shielding) around the exhaust only lasts a couple of winters and everything else seizes up solid
