I have the same setup as sold by Gert at Carnwal. I'm using it with Kevin's Stage 1 which is good for about 450-470HP depending on octane so I'm not stressing it much.

Anyway, the clutch feels about the same as stock as far as pedal feel goes. The lightweight flywheel does make starting from a stop a bit trickier than stock; it's easy to overrev the motor or release the clutch too quickly. But it isn't a big deal. I can hear a bit more transmission noise when lightly accelerating but not a big deal either.

As expected, motor revs up and down more freeling.

If I were to do it again, I'd put back the stock flywheel. Given my car is a daily driver that sees a track day maybe 5 or 6 times a year, the daily drivability is more important to me than the performance improvement of the lighter flywheel.
This is exakt the information im searching for, same as Js911 i have start to thinking to skipp LWF for the moment, i hear alot of people say tricky to leave the line, need to think some more

Have any of you guys actually picked up a dual mass flywheel?? Do you realize the added weight to your drivetrain.. Porsche only went to the dual mass unit because to many people complained about a little noise, and people didn't know how to feather the clutch..

My view of the lightweight clutch is to relieve some of the stress from the rotating assy/drivetrain.. Throw the performance aspect out the door.. Especially if one is tracking there car, or increasing the HP..

Yes i know the Sach parts is expensive but i think there is like 50% more expensive here in Sweden, but always funny to compare

The info i did come over here in sweden was a pressure plate giving 680nm and pared thougter with a organic disc giveing 15% more, will yield a 780nm, but the one one the link is holding more then 850nm stated, any more info on this..?

Wow, you guys only have one standard weight of lightweight flywheel?
In RX-7 world we have 2-3, with an aluminum flywheel w/ steel insert being lightest (about 12lbs total w/ counterweight) and steel which is about 16lbs.

stock for my car is between 22 and 28lbs, mine is the heaviest at 28lbs and is horrible, also has most of mass at edge of flywheel which makes it feel like even more weight.

I bet if someone were to come out with a milder streetable LWF it'd do pretty good.

just my2c,

The factory "RS" LWF is only 11 pounds and totally streetable but if you are not happy with it than you can send it off to Andial/PMS. They will take the RS LWF and weld 7-8 pounds of metal onto it which puts it about halfway between the stock DMF and LWF. Price and quality wise it would be tough to beat the Porsche factory piece.

A lot of people have gone with the Andial set up...its also a bit $$...seems like a happy middle ground. But you dont go LWF to be middle ground.

Richard I upgraded my clutch (993TT) with the same "Viper Bob" package
that several others on this board did. Bob can you explain what was in you old
kit. I believe it was a Sachs pressure plate (#?), and I know it was a ltwt flywheel.
V. Bob??
BTW mine had quick engagement Richard, which you mentioned as a non-issue,
and mine had very high clamping force!!

Hi Richard,

I ordered the Sachs motorsports unit (clutch and light weight flywheel) from Kevin along with his Stage 1. Once I receive and install all the components, I'll give you my feedback. By the way, my car is my daily driver...

Regards,
Ziad
