Well.. It looks like everything is settled...
Since the mods deleted the original thread, I thought I would post a copy so that everyone knows what the status was:

Good afternoon everyone. Now that I have been able to speak with Al firsthand I
am more than willing to post further information that I did not feel comfortable
posting originally. The vehicle in question was taken over by my wife and I from
my brother-in-law and was dropped of to Al to do some body and mechanical work
to the vehicle, work which we had originally thought to have been completed and
paid for. Not much concern was given to the car as it is quite a distance away
and we have other cars that we drive regularly. More recently we started
thinking that we really needed to finalize everything with the car and
discovered that there was money owed to Al by my brother-in-law for work done.
Having not been able to reach Al by phone or email we became extremely
concerned, concern which escalated when I began hearing other stories, two of
which had hinted that the car may have been taken to Florida and parted out. The
combination of not being able to contact Al and the stor!
ies I was hearing from others in the area and online brought me to the point of
desperation in trying to locate Al get a final verdict on where we are with this
car. After driving down to Florida to speak with Al personally here is where we
stand:
1.) Al has told me that he is more than willing to provide pictures and proof
that the car is still complete to myself and the bank that holds the note on the
car, and agreed to an inspection by a bank officer if needed.
2.) We have set a timeline that is between Al and I personally and will not be
discussed in public regarding documentation of any outstandings owed by my
brother-in-law, and of documentation of the car, and any work done.
3.) Al and I gave each other updated contact information as the previous
information may have led to the lack of respronse to our messages, as it seems
he may not have received them. I am not worried about it, I am just going from
here forward.
Overall, I am glad to have spoken with Al and thank him for be courteous enough
to speak with me at his home. He was more than willing to discuss his side with
me so that we can compare notes and find a solution that works for everyone, and
shold hopefully have the Porsche back in our garage motoring along in the not
too far off future. I believe that we have arrived at a gentleman's agreement
and will go from here forward. The one thing that I will caution other to do is
to learn from my mistake and do not let stories for others force you into being
paranoid of dread. I believe I madde that mistake, but look forward to more
levelheaded thinking and completing our business with Mr. Solaroli.
Message to the admins: Please feel free to either delete or lock this thread, as
it seems that the parties involved (Al and I) have reached a proposed solution
so not further discussion is needed. Thank you.
