Default Small and intermitant backfire

Just recently my car will backfire when I downshift into 2nd gear. It is not very loud and only happens on a rare occasion.

I have had a lot of work done to the car many months ago by Devek with no problems until now. I don't think any of these upgrades are the cause.

Any one have any ideas?

Possible clogged fuel regulator and/or injectors is what comes to mind.

MAF sensors do plenty of weird things when they fail, have you run a codes check on the Porsche laptop?

No, have not run a code check. I think I better get the car to my mechanic.

Hi Clive. Yes it is a good idea to take it into your local Porsche guys there to check it out. There are any number of things on the turbo that can go bad and cause issues. Best to get it fixed early.

I never noticed a backfire with mufflers on, but with bypasses, the exhaust backfires a bit - crackles would be more descriptive - on decelleration with just a slight touch of throttle. It sounds kinda cool. No noise with my foot completely off the throttle. Not sure it's related, but thought I'd toss that out.

My mechanic says due to the colder weather, richer feul mix and no mufflers is the reason for the back fire. He said not to worry about it. I hope he is right.
