Actually the car I referred tested on the other site
http://www.einszweidrei.de/
Is not the one above, the acceleration numbers are different - the one above is faster 100-300 in 22.2 compared to 19.8 above

You don't know how close to the bone you are there

Both these cars were out at the same time (the red car above actually did 100-200 in 6.4s and 0-300kph in 23.5s) and Sport Auto wanted to do a back to back but guess who backed out

I still find the RS numbers too quick for the power/torque and weight, as GuyR has said before, it looks like it could be a doctored car although RS have said not, blaming the torque curve and the gearbox

I agree, that the numbers on the RS car just do not add up, Sorry TB, RS may have thrown
us a curve ball there. I would love to hear what Alois has to say about this "comparo",
I may ask have to ask him myself in the spring!!

Cool article though!

Apart from the red car above, there appears to be another car which was released for the press. It was a 993 C4S with deep GT2 type front spoiler and GT2 rear wing, pics of this car can be found on www.rs-tuning.de then "press" it is the one tested by Rallye Racing in 97 and then reviewed again in '98, the article said it did 80-180kph or 50mph-112mph in 6.1s.
The car tested by Sport Auto on the site http://www.einszweidrei.de/ in '97 I think is the same black car, the narrative in the text on this site says it is based on a 993 C4 and has GT2 rear spoiler and the sloped widscreen - Sport Auto tested it at 80-180kph in 5.7s and the 0-300kph in 25.9s

Compare the red cars 0-300kph of 23.5s - remember the black car has the bigger spoilers and the 6 speed box which may account for the ~2.5s deficit.

The pics of the black car on the RS site do appear to show a C4S motor (the fan) and a stock 993tt intercooler - so the power and torque MUST be around the levels quoted as it will be limited by the intercooler.

I'll put the magnifying glass away now
