Default 993 TT sounding louder on startup. Opinions please

My 1996 993TT w/ 23000 miles is sounding a bit louder on startup. Nothing major, just a bit more initial rumble. It doesn't sound like the ticking sound of premature valve guide wear or a car needing a valve adjustment, but rather more like a throaty exhaust sound.

I bought the car with 8K miles a year and a half ago....and had Protomotive put in Garrett Hybrid turbos and remap. Between 1996 and 2004 the car mostly sat in the garage of the person I bought it from (next to a couple of Ferraris and

The car is running fine. It is a bit colder these days in my area. Could that explain this?

There's an air injection system that runs for 2 minutes on a cold start. According to the service info manual this system runs on cold starts at between -12 and 60 degrees C ambient. It hasn't got to -12 C yet I presume?!

I seem to remember my car sounding different at start-up at altitude (6000 feet) last year at perhaps 3 degrees C, almost like the air injection system wasn't running.

Yup. On a cold morning mine sounds like somebody kicked a pack of sled dogs awake.

It's exactly vice versa. The car does not sound louder on startup but it sounds more quiet after it is warmed up... Buy a muffler bypass and it is even more obvious :-)
