D*mn!
That's gonna be a real "sleeper" and they'll never know what hit them...
First things first, fill in your numbers in the 60-130mph thread!

So I presume you've got k24/26 hybrids? What type of intercooler did you get?

Rass,

.. yup.. 60-130 times are my focus other than cutting up back roads.. :-)... it probably won;t be any quicker than my old 3.3 TT which ran 1.4 bar though...

turbos amazingly are Garrett super 60's... BUT .. big issue is 8.9ish/1 CR.. so boost is Soooo fast with those turbos and I only run up to 1.05 bar... about 62X HP at crank... the intercooler is the 'big' protomotive cooler designed specifically to work with the NA 993 manifold(no center section too)..

Ed, congratulations!!

So you finally sold the other animal. I think I know who bought it. This is really a sleeper, you are going to have a blast, these 993s really handle much better than the 964s, you will feel they are better cars. I am surprised at the CR bump, why did Todd do that? I am assuming youhave an EBC or just running springs?
Tell us more abput your driving experience, and obviously a 60-130mph!! You will be surprised how you will not be too far from your ex.3.3ltr even at 1Bar. The 3.8 is a wonderful torque beast.
Enjoy it safely.
Very happy for you.

.. Thanks Jean.. I have been waiting 2 years for this car... no EBC... roll under car and replace springs.....

.... For my kind of driving I like much higher CR's since most of my use is backroad...though I love the rush of boost like everyone else... but it's useless on the curves... I struggled with going to the larger injectors and then larger 044 fuel pumps... to get another 30ish HP.. (would reach the limit of the MAF) and probably lose some throottle response/fuel atomization.... and tractability. though I'm sure some will argue this..

This is a very similar engine dyno....

Wow! Scary torque downlow.
If you look at it the way a chassis dyno looks like, maybe it does not look fantastic, but knowing how Protomotive's dyno charts look like, this one is a real beast. I guess an acceleration run will be th ebest judge, but I am sure this car is VERY fast. You have much more torque than I on the same dyno, courtesy of that CR I am sure.

.. Yeah... can't wait to burn up my tires ...:-).. it's sorta stupid how it rips the tires up with very little throttle..in 1st or second.. need to up the tire budget... teh 60-130 will be interesting... it also brings back my issue with the 'more shifts' factor....

.. I'm going to drive it for a while like this and maybe change config in the spring...shame you're so far away.. I'd love to compare/contrast the 2 rigs...

btw.. If you or anyone has a recommendation on suspension to start with for backroads and occasional track for a 2wd 993 i'd be happy to hear.. and my tolerance for a hard ride is more than most...

Of course! I am very happy with my suspension, I was driving it today at mad speeds on twisty desert roads, highly prepped 996TTs were half a mile behind by the end of the run. Funny that you mention tire spin, I cannot get my car to spin the tires even in second gear, 1st gear hardly!! Maybe it is the 315 MPSC?

Todd and Cynthia have driven my car in Germany for 4-5 hours straight, they were a bit wrinkled afterwards, it was kind of stiff .. Now I have softer springs, and it runs like a dream, still stiff but not back breaking..

See this thread..

Highly recommended.. Talk to Steve W. if you want some great advise on suspension.

Thanks Jean... the tirespin is the compression and small snails...and only 295's...

... I'll yack some more on suspensions after I have her a few weeks.. (or spring...I'm in Philly).. I love your car!

I am stunned! what a sleeper with the 996tt wheels.
How does it sound at 6000 rpm?
Evidently you decided to not fear the cheap plastic car (06 Z06)?
Congrats on a real piece of art.

Thanks Marty! :-).. all the proto rigs sound insane... the extra displacement versus my 3.3 makes a huge difference in the 'body' of the sound... it sounds like a chevy big block at idle.. people can't believe it's not a huge V8

I LIVE to trounce middle aged men in ZO6's .. versus middle aged men in 3.8 tt's ;-)

.. glad someone noticed the wheels ;-)

Damn!!!! I rubbed my eyes looking at the graph. You should be able to bust the tail loose on that thing more that you would like I'd guess. 315's are in order at the least.

Awesome number. I hope to get mine on the dyno soon. Gotta get ready to play with those new Z06's on the track next year.

Now folks pay attention. That is one fine example of a awesome power curve!!!! The 500+ tq from 3,800 to 6,300 is what makes that setup really nice! Another thing to note this is why the HP is so high. The 500tq at 6,300 = big ponies!!

Todd Knighton really is the man. So few others that can do the hardware craftmenship and software tuning that he can.

Enjoy that beast!!!
