Question Cost range of (complete) rebuild?

if one wants to buy a hi-mileage 993tt what could be the list of the most costly items to make it drive like new?

- clutch
- tranny
- valve guides
- (better) turbos (with better ecu)
- 1st gear
- turbo hoses and other little stuff
- (100cell) cats and mufflers

- wheels, tires, brakes and other maintanence items not included!

If you do that in one session how much would that cost?

Is 15K USD reasonable?

if transmission and 1st gear would be damaged.

the question is not due to an actual car but more a question of how much could it cost one to buy a (cheap) car that needs a lot of repair. if trany or 1st gear is usually no issue than even better ;-)

$15k will not cover the list you have.

The first gearset is on the mainshaft of the transmission so you'd need to purchase an entire mainshaft for the tranny if it was damaged.

I knew I shouldn't have gone up to 1 Bar with you on board, now I feel responsible for your irrational exhuberance
I might be putting my FVD 540 hp engine up for sale... If you sell your engine you will end up paying very little difference.. Or you keep your engine at home and you drop it back if you want to sell your car with matching numbers...

Jean, pm me a special offer for your fvd engine

I quit my job only too make a tiny bit more money so I can afford a faster twin. So if I am going to have a stroke because of the stress in my new job you know what you did

PS: I just got to know a fellow who already did ~500 rounds on the Ring and has a full year access for the ring. He is getting his A-driver license and is going to coach me as passenger in my car
