$47,900 with 112k miles
Will this thing need major work soon?
I just called and left a message to see what they have to say about it and its history.

I thinik it's a car that's been driven... what's wrong with that?
i would have a thorough ppi done, compression and leakdown test for certain. Go through the service records see what's been done. It should have had a couple clutches by now. How many miles on the current clutch? Slave has also probably been done too, but make sure. Brakes.. pads and rotors. New rotors by now i would think. How many miles on the current rotors? I would go through it very carefully and you should be able to gauge what it will need now and down the road. To be on the safe side I would defdinitely have at least $10-15k set aside, maybe more. If the numbers on the compression and leakdown come back low or weak i would walk away or plan on a rebuild very soon and while you're in there items along with the rebuild will run you more than $15k. On the other hand if the engine checks out healthy, no smoke at start up, no leaks, clutch, slave and rotors are all fairly new you could get quite a few years of happy driving out of her before having to do major work.

For $5k more you can find TT's with 50-70k miles. It all depennds on the condition as EThec pointed out. You're a long way from Atlanta, are you willing to fly there and check it out?

Gareeb,
If you like a black 993TT, and you budget a few bucks for repairs (as suggested above), you may want to take a look at MichaelM's 993TT. He's eager to sell, and it has EVERYTHING done up. Dollar-for-dollar, MichaelM's is probably the better value.

Tony,
Stayed tuned... perhaps tomorrow I'll have Rufus back. How's your beautiful silver car coming along? We'll have to plan a nice gentle drive... perhaps meet CP near San Luis Obispo or something... that way you guys get to finish "the rumble".

Steve,
I am targeting the end of October. I'll be on a family vacation the last week of Oct and hoping to pick it up when I come back. Its been a long time and I just can't wait. I am very happy for you and have been following your activities with RUFUS. I think Pong was thinking about Nov 9th for a meet.
Gareeb,
Sorry for hijacking this thread... Good luck in your seach and I would also look at Michael's 993TT at $65K

Thanks for the comments Steve. This is what I have been trying to say to people, and I would think that people on this board would really know. In any case, what do you say some of us locals get together soon while I still have my baby and go for a nice little cruise. I'm busy this weekend and the next, but If I she doesn't sell in say three weeks when I get back from Cozumel, I think it would be fun. Me, you, Airkuul, Ethic, adison(is he still around?), and ihow about some N/A guys too.
