It's better to take a trip with the car to the right workshop then letting some sloppy hand mechanic do the work. Even though it might be cheaper, the sometimes charge you extra for the time they spend when they don't know what they are doing so they need to take things "extra slow".

Check out Kevins sticky above, and see if you might be able to do it yourself!

Ok, Los Angeles then, thats only a 5 hour drive. Which tuners have the best reputation out there?

There are several reputable tuners in the Phoenix area. Bob Holcombe comes to mind first though he's primarily an engine builder. I know of another, I just can't think of his name but I'll find out.....

I would think Bob Holcomb also, he is quite an engine builder and this
is easy bolt on. If LA, your choices are numerous but isnt Andial the
most obvious??

Not sure how far you are from EVO but they would be a great choice as well.

http://www.evoms.com/porsche%20ec%20art%20test.htm

They could measure before and after performance gains. They are also a GIAC dealer so they could tune your car as well. I am using there BPV's and they made a noticeable difference retaining boost between shifts.

I dont think they are interested in working on 993s, just 996.

I find that hard to believe too. Call and talk to Nathan (and imagine that you are talking to a 6'9" 300 lb young man - which is true.)

I can only speak to EVOMS reputation, I have never had any work done there.
