Default European 993 TT Prices

Dear all

I have finally go around to deciding I will move my '95 C2 (with mods) on and get a 993TT.

I have been dithering over this as 996TT prices have kept dropping but after driving a few the 993TT was the one I most wanted to get back into.

As mileages over here in Europe tend to be higher I have set an absolute limit of 50'000 miles however (as always) a very nice October '97 TT in black with full ruffled leather and full Porsche main dealer history has come up for €50'000 ($59'600). It has a mileage of 56'000.

Is that where the prices for this mileage etc are at the moment?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

Mike

Mike you should really check http://www.mobile.de
It's the biggest car-market in Europe and have plenty cars. Just remember there are plenty of POS on that site. Don't expect to get a good car below €50k, many are crap or repaired wrecks. Watch out for homemade tuning.

Hi Rassel

I live in Switzerland and the car I am after is on Mobile.de. The reason for the non-Swiss purchase is European cars have the ROW gearbox which has better ratios (Switzerland went with US ratios for drive-by noise regulations).

Since I am only just "getting back in" to the purchase market I am keen to canvass rennlisters for advice.

I agree with the POS remark - a lot of the "pristine one doctor owner" myths are really just myths.

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike,

that price is ok if the car checks out ok.

do a "druckverlust" test (compresion test) for ~150 euros before buying.

what you should backtest if it is EZ1997 or BJ1997, i.e. build year vs. first registration.
check out the vin for that or see if it has the orange end-turbo hoses, then it is probably a 97 build year.

god luck!
