ScottMellor: Thanks for the tip. By the way did you take a look at the 96 993TT at Allen Motors with ca993twin?

What! That seems like crapola to me! But if you spoke to Rick the service manager and that's what he said then I guess that's the case. I only ever go to Mike so I don't know any one else.

ScottMellor: Yeah I believe that is who answered the phone when I called. He mentioned something about liability issues, yada, yada, yada. Of course if they were selling a car then they would be able to do a PPI. Big surprise there. Before this I had asked for Mike and they mentioned that techs can't answer phone calls.

I just put a call into Mike and left him a message about this. If he can't do it perhaps he can make a referral.

ScottMellor: Thanks for the help. Would you recommend the car? Of course the PPI would have to be positive. I am not afraid of high mileage as long as the car was well taken care of.

I just confirmed with Mike that Rusnak no longer does PPIs unless it's for a Porsche Certified car that they are selling. He did say Redline has a good reputation.

jcaine: I have only been to California once so don't flame me. I am assuming that the Redline in Thousand Oaks is different that the one in Santa Monica.

I believe the two outfits are same-named, but totally seperate. Redline in Santa Monica has been around for a million years (literally, almost), but I also heard they were not in business any more. I'm hoping the Redline out here in T.O. is also good... I'm bringing them my car Monday night for a look-over, and some maintenance items... all easy DIY stuff if I wasn't such a doofus. They will also give me some estimates for some future work.

If I can remember, I'll post my comments on their work,
