Smile Where on the engine is the boost guage tubing?

I need to install a boost guage on my 993tt 964 conversion. Anybody know where Porsche tapped into? I imagine it would be a small caliber, firm plastic pipe connected somewhere on the intake manifold and routed to the cabin and attached to a boost guage. Can someone provide a photo, or description on where to find it?

thnks, Jaime

It is my feeble understanding that the OEM electronic boost gauge is just that... electronic. The boost is "computed" and displayed, based on a number of factors. You'll have to run your own tubing, and tap into a fitting. I had a mechanic install mine, so I have no details. I will say that the electronic display matches the mechanical gauge well enough that I don't even look at the mechanical anymore. Ah well...

So, the most appropriate place would be somewhere on the intake manifold...right??

anyone.

This is an ideal place on a stock 993tt; not sure if the same fitting will be found on your car.

Hi Phelix!

Thanks for the Photo. Yes, I do have this same setup. Why did Porsche cap this?

To prevent a boost leak! Seriously, I'm not sure but it might well be for diagnostic purposes.
