Default Off to hunt GT3's & 996TT's...

at Cal Speedway with the POC. It's their annual "Tribute to Le Mans" 3-day weekend with the 4 hour Tribute-enduro race Saturday evening.

Awfully excited about my newest mods to level the "suspension playing field" with those pesky GT3's.....Let's see: new springs (500 & 1000lb), revalved Bilsteins to match, ERB monoballs/camber plates(camber set to 2.75F, 2.5R), Turbo S front spoiler/dam, and BBS 9-1/2 & 11-1/2 rims with 265/315 MPSC's. Understeer my ***!
Of course all this does nothing for the inevitable driver error.....

That wheel/tire combination sounds awesome, would love to see pics when you get a chance.

Have fun and keep the shiny side up!

JR Go get them! Good luck and post some vids.

That tire combination is very serious, I have the same and it tramlines like a pig on the street but balance is amazing!

hi jean,
im curious, why does fatter tires cause the car to tramline?
I remember reading initial reviews of the 993tt (before i had one) and several reviewers said the car tramlined in its stock form.

Rob

The fatter the tires the more you tramline..why? no idea The suspension geometry on a 993 makes it bad. Doing a search will definitely give you the answer, I am too lazy today! There are ways to reduce it as Viken pointed out once in a thread, I think you dial more toe in (or the opposite)..Fat tires with too much camber up front are a very difficult combination, but needed on a track.

It doesn't sound like they will have a chance. I am contemplating the camber plate option right now. I would really like to hear your impression of this set-up on the track.
