Default valve cover gaskets and exhaust gaskets

Guys, I was going to get into this header mod. I go to Pelican
to order some parts. I see upper and lower valve cover gaskets?! What
are they talking about? upper and lowers? my dentures?!
Is there an upper and lower gasket?
if there is -the lower one is the one weeping.

I need to change the exahust gaskets on the heads when I pull off the headers.
are the exhaust gaskets rings or traditional gaskets. And i guess the one to the
turbo too.
I am kind of confused by Pelicans
site.

OG,

Try shooting Kevin a PM. He gave me a list of all the parts necessary when I did the same thing last year.

Paul:

Here is a list of the OEM parts I ordered when I did my turbo R and R. As I did my lower VC gaskets, it should be on point to the work you are doing. Here goes:

Items for 993TT Turbo R and R

Item / Pet ID / Desc. / Part No. / Qty.
1 / 3 / Sealing Ring / 965 111 205 00 / 2 (Large Seal Rings Turbo Out)
2 / 12 / O-Ring 18,65 X 2,45 / 999 701 598 40 / 2 (Turbo Oil O-Ring)
3 / 35 and 7 / Locking Nut / 999 084 627 02 / 14
4 / 6 / Sealing Ring / 944 111 205 01 / 2 (Smaller Seal Ring Turbo In)
5 / 3 / Sealing Ring / 993 111 195 00 / 6
6 / 5 / Socket Head Nut / 999 085 001 02 / 4
7 / 4 / Locking Nut M8 / 999 084 052 02 / 8
8 / 19 / Lwr Vlve Cvr Gskt / 993 105 135 02 / 2

Sorry for the funky format, I could not easily post from Excel...

If you have access to PET, the PET diagram part ID's are listed as well so you can see what the parts are.

Have fun (more...)

Our engines have really wide hemi heads, so there are separate valve covers for the intake and exhaust, therefore upper(intake) and lower(exhaust).
