I've only had one experience with my TT on snow with S02's and it was bad.

I also spun my 993TT in the snow on performance tires, but it's been great for the past 3 winters on Pirelli Wintersport 240's. I agree that snow tires help more than AWD.

I have an '04 Audi TT w/ snows and still find that if it is cold enough and the right conditions it is a pain to drive. I did have an A6 that with snows was awesome in the snow.. and my wifes allroad with allweather pilot sports is a monster..
I hope you left it there and took a taxi or got a ride home.. or made it home safely.

Be safe...

My Cayenne S was a pile of crap without the proer tires. Now on Blizzak's and it is a great SUV. Be careful in any car without proper tires.

Without 4 snow tires, I would have it flatbedded home. Too dangerous with high performance tires, and near zero tempertures in the snow.

Exactly, snow tires make all the difference.
Just the sight of snow made my M5 stuck.
Put the snows on and the difference was day and night.
If your 993tt has no snows, leave it at work, better safe than sorry.

I'd drive it as long as there in NO SALT on the road... you'll make it the 14 miles. Just be cool.
