Default Shifter bushings

Hello guys. I need some info on where to get a set of bushing for the tranny linkage. I found that both are broken and notice that they are the same that 928 cars use. Can they found it separetly from the linkage or I need to buy the complete part? Any suggestion?

Best regards

Hi Corte,

What bushings are you referring to? Have you found a source yet? Do you mean the coupler or shifter?

Hi Jean. Sorry to hear that large delay on your engine. I'm prety sure you will be very happy when it arrives to you with the excellent work done. The bushings are those located on the downside part of the car, where you need to remove the covers. There is a linkage with an adjustable joint wich have one bushing and the other is located on the linkage wich comes from the shifter. Both are sealed and can be removed doing some cut on the metal housing. The bushings are almost identical for 928 models. I need to know if they can founded separetly or comes with the linkage. The dealer here sucks so I'm looking for an alternative on other country( as usual ).

Regards

Corte

This diagram should show you whether you can buy the part separately or not. If you can identify it, I can help you find it. Just tell me which number on the drawing.

Hope it helps.
Best,
Jean

Hello Jean. Couldn't be better. Bushings on 15 and 16. Both are completely crisp. We note that are almost the same on the 928 linkage that can be replaced without buying the complete linkage.

Thank's Jean

Jorge, the angular joint is the same as for the 928, so yu can maybe get it from Panama, but it is not the white plastic bushing inside, it is rather the whole metal piece.

Here are the part numbers for a 4WD:

964.424.011.01 (Part #15)
928.424.005.01 (Part #16)

Many Rennlist sponsors should be able to set you up, I got them from Devek.
Best,
Jean

Thank's for the info Jean. The dealer in Panama has NOTHING for my car since they only import 3, Cabrio, C2 and C4S. The next year they import the 996 and boxter, so is very dificult to find parts here and, if I order it with them, takes 21-35 days to bring the part to me at very high cost. I'll take a look on Perfo....ce and Vert...x to. Thank's for the part number, really appreciated.

Regards

Superyellowfly. Just go under the car and remove the covers. The linkage is there. Very easy DIY. I only take an hour with propper tools.

Superyellowfly,

It is easy. Just be careful to put some grease inside the white bushing and make sure it is securely fitted. You can use a clamp to help with the insertion of the coupler (part #16 in the pic) into the ball (part # 24 in the pic). Same for part #1 and #15.
