Default Love my new 993TT !!!!!

Hi Everybody: Just got my 1996 993TT back from Protosport in NJ. I picked up this car in immaculate condition with 8k miles a few months ago. A collector had it sitting in a barn with a bunch of amazing cars including a perfect 356, Ferarri Modena, and several others. This "barn" was temperature controlled, and a lot nicer than most houses I've been in!! I drove it stock for a couple of months, but it felt sluggish relavive to my old 964 Protomotive Stage 3+ TT which was about 600hp. Also, the suspension felt loose relative to the stiffer suspension I was used to. Very hard to get rid of the old car after 10 years...but now I'm much happier with the new one. Here's what I just had done at Protosport:

1. Hybrid motorsport turbos
2. Updated ECU with Protomotive remapping
3. Upgraded Fuel pressure reg.
4. Hi-flow exhaust modification
5. H&R Coilovers/ RS Swaybars
6. LWF/Clutch
7. New bridgestone so2's

It's running about a bar of boost. I'm amazed at the driveablity.....coupled with smooth, powerful acceleraton.

The Protosport team (Paul, John et al) did both cars. I've known them for nearly a decade now...and these guys continue to impress me more and more. They really have the setup of these cars down to a science and have been great to work with.

Here's a picture if you are interested:

Default I also love your TT, wanna give it to me?!

Harry,

It sounds sweeeeeet!

Do you know what kind of hybrids they made?
Did the exhaust noise change?
What is the estimated power?
Do you have a chart on it?
Did you pay a fortune?

I took the liberty to post your car

Nice car. I bought my car in NJ after the original owner had it worked on at Protosport. Paul was nice enough to go over their mods and answer all my questions. Mike

Let me answer these questions! It's midnight blue metallic, and was in mint condition. The guy let it sit and virtually never drove it. I think it was a decent deal at $75k which was my bottom line offer. The turbos are GT2 hybrids and deliver in the neighborhood of 500-510hp. They don't spool up quite as fast as the stock turbos did, but this is not a problem...because they seem to just keep building boost to about 1.0 bar in a very smooth manner. Another customer ordered them but didn't take delivery so I got a good deal on them. Protosport opened up the mufflers and modified them and then rewelded them so they appear stock. The car is much quieter than my old Stage 3+ but still has a decent bit of sound that should be more agreeable to the neighbors. The car hasn't been dynoed, but based in comparison to my old car...i'd guess 500hp at this point. Next steps; 1. aux oil cooler,
2. Protomotive intercooler. I'll have both done this spring after I save my pennies!!

dysert: not the same car. Mine was bought new in 1996 and garaged by the original owner. I bought it directly from him. Also, it had just under 8k miles.

A dream machine Harry. Protosport is an affiliate of Protomotive I think, you can't go wrong with them if you want HP. Have you done any acceleration runs and compared timing with the 964 you had?

Congratulations on the car, it's a great deal you got..
