I'm considering doing this DIY maybe this weekend. I've read the instruction several times but i'm still confused. So, i'm cutting a wire and connecting each end to a switch? So, am i breaking the circuit and making the fan run??
Anyone who's done this mod maybe could enlighten me before i tackle this projet...
And any long term concerns?? Would it hinder any normal operation of the fan??
Thanks
Ray

That's right, breaking the circuit makes the fan run. That is also what the thermostat on the oil cooler does. When the circuit is closed you get normal operation. It seems like work for little gain to me, as when things get hot the fan runs anyway and if you want manual operation, you can pop out the headlight and pull the plug off the thermostat. I don't like cutting into the wiring harness if I don't have to.

No problems at all. Only advice is to double check the wire to make sure it is the correct one and to do it while it is light out. It's hard to do in the dark
I was able to remove only the bigger connector in the bottom and slide it out to the bottom of the dash to work on.
It works when you are lazy and want to have the fan on from inside the car. I have zero problem cutting into the car
There's a bunch of extra holes for a variety of things now.
