Hi Dave:
Add 10 qts and then check the dipstick after its all good and hot on a level surface with the motor running.
I'd really suggest 15w-50. The 0w-40 stuff is fine for the water-cooled cars.

Folks;
This gets left out on many oil changing tips. I prefer and strongly recommend pouring in 6 - 7 quarts of oil and pulling #26 fuse. This is your fuel pump. Turn the engine over and you will do two things. You will self level the oil in the sump and prime your oil pump/2nd stage, oil filters, and turbo's. I would crank the engine over for 15 seconds, then wait 15, during this time, put the rest of your oil in.. Turn the engine over and watch your oil pressure gauge... Please repeat this proceedure until you have GOOD oil pressure. Insert fuse and fire the engine off..

do not overfill, my (ex)mechanic over filled with castrol 5w and clogged my turbos. I was blowing white smoke everywhere until I fixed the problem with my (new) mechanic.
