Default where is a good vacuum source for a boost gauge?

i removed the factory cell phone from my 993 TT and made a replacement panel to mount a boost/vacuum gauge in.

everything is in and the vacuum line ran to the back of the car. i was told there is a hose w/a T in it coming off the TB w/a blocked off leg to hook the line to

i have the IC off and see a few hoses coming from the TB but none w/a T that has a blocked off end.

can someone help me figure out where to plumb the gauge. i need to put the car back together to move it.

thanks

ken

I think there's a T in a hose that comes off the top/back of the throttle body and arcs gently over the left. The T should be quite near to the throttle body and not far from the rubber bellows on the throttle cable.

Send me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll e-mail you a picture.

gauge is a VDO from north hollywood speedometer, i delt w/Dirk @ 818-761-6136

i researched the different brands and chose the VDO as it best matched the cars original gauges

it is a small 2 1/16 in one. i had it silk screened to match the factory silver gauge faces as VDO doesnt sell a silver dial

also had it changed to read bar rather than lbs.

it is mounted in place of the factory phone on the phone console below the ashtray.

if you can get one of the consoles, it make a great place to mount things.

there is room on it for 3 or 4 gauges.

If you want extra bling, the Defi BF series 60mm boost gauge is beautiful.

drove the car today w/my new gauges installed and it was cool to see the two gauge hands swinging back and forth.

i have a separate vac and boost gauge and they kind of take turns moving, looks trick to me. was a great project.

now waiting for a carbon fiber panel to mount them in instead of the leather one i made.

thanks all for the help along the way!
