Default "drive block" immbolizer horror!!!

Oh My GODDDD!! What a mess, I broke my 3rd Immobilizer key,and now for whatever reason I cannot get the 4 digit code to work! You would think porsche would of made it out of stainless steel or something. Over $150 (again) for a new one and I will probably have to get it flatbedded in since it is such a PAIN IN THE *** to get it right! Has this ever happened to anyone?? Or am I the only fool??!!

Do you have the switchblade type or the key fob type?

I'm interested to hear of your problem becuase I haven't heard of people breaking these things that often. I've had my car for 3 years and am still using the same key/key fob.

Get rid of the switchblade, those have always been tempermental, besides awkward.
Replace it with the alarm remote P/N 993.618.959.12 (if the mechanicals inside the switchblade are good, transfer to this housing) and use 944.538.041.00 lighted key cap for the key.

If you need an additional unit you can order 993.618.259.02 alarm remote complete that has mechanicals inside and you can program it using your specific alarm/ignition codes supplied by your dealer.

If you do decide to convert to the key fob remote, here is the DIY: http://p-car.com/diy/key/

If you loose the code number and as tjnif993t the keyfob goes kapputt, does this mean that you'll never get it running again?

Porsche has a record of the code, you can get it from the dealer.
