Noony good luck with your decision, it is a tough one indeed,

The CTR2 is imho the ultimate 993 derivative, and stupendously fast, but also very very expensive as it is completely bespoke

However I love the all round package you can get with the BTR,

Its hard to source these cars as they dont come up very often, I recall CP searched for his car for a veyr long time, but with patience you will find a brilliant car.

If you need any more info just contact me on m5board.com

all the best

Adam,

Thanks for chiming in. We need great members like you who have both great insigts into these cars, and personal experience with them (that actually is the hardest part as they are sooooo rare) to provide accurate information. One can only read so much, and sometimes, what's written is not necessarily correct either.

I'm indeed lucky to have found the BTR-2. It took over one year from start to finish. However, the research and the hunt were tremendous fun. Thanks so much for your kind replies to my e-mails when I was getting my RUF education/indoctrination.

Hope Noonie and his dad can benefit from your in-depth knowledge of the RUFs as well. They are truely great cars.

See you around, both boards.

AdamT-

Which do you like better since you have experience with both the R Turbo or CTR(Yellowbird)?

I have been asked this before and it is a very hard decision

I guess it depends on my current feeling, because the r turbo did so badly in the 0-100-0 i guess i will go for the CTR today

all the best

Adam thanks for your posts. I don't know how you manage to post on so many forums and have time to drive the cars.

Better find out how much that costs now! Maybe more than we need though.

Thanks for your comments. Do you have any problems with the front spoiler?
When it comes to acceleration, you never have enough. Trust me on this one.

Front spoiler - I did have a little scraping problems initially. I now have a Gert front protection bar (a must-have in my books), and I take driveway dips at an angle now. So the low spoiler is no longer a concern.

Please keep us posted on your family decisions. Would love to see another RUF amongst our ranks.

CP,

I did my first track event last weekend. My C4 was fun but I kept thinking about your car. It would have made a great weekend even better. Been getting an education following these "Ruf" discussions. Perhaps some day.

Hi Jim,

Glad to hear from you again. You think a RUF can improve your track time by a hair or so?

I'm having my front end resprayed to install a clear bra system. After that, I'm 100% done with the car, and the RUF should be road-worthy for a long time.

If you eventually relocate to the Bay Area, please give us a heads-up. We will roll out the welcome wagon for our fellow Rennlisters. You can certainly drive my RUF again then.

Let's keep in touch.

Because that would come to well over double our budget.
