Default Interesting Ruf CTR2 plus EKS transmission

There's an interesting and very mean looking Ruf CTR2 for sale on ebay. In view of this board's recent discussion of the EKS transmission, I thought it interesting that this car has one. Roland (who owns an absolutely gorgeous black/black CTR2) knows some of its history.

Sure wish I could get those seats. They might be Koenig 5000's.

No affiliation, yada yada yada ...

Ebay sale of Ruf CTR2

Roland said he recalls one going for about $250,000, if not north of that! Very few in No. America.

John,

Thanks for head's up. I'll watch this one with keen interest.

This should go for a lot more (if it indeed gets sold) than the current bid of $85k. I'm sure this is a genuine RUF with RUF VIN, integrated roll cage and a whole bunch of goodies.

Sweet and mean at the same time. Absolutely awesome car.

Yup, I'm very impressed by the car. Roland is the real Ruf guru and gave me a lot of background info about these cars when I had major Ruf-itis not too long ago. Brand new from Ruf these CTR2's went for anywhere between $200-300,000, depending up the goodies added. Don't know if this one will get into that range though.

I saw this car (or one that looked exactly like it) at McKenna Porsche last summer. It is indeed very mean looking in person...if Darth Vader drove a Porsche this would be it. Salesman said it belonged to a friend of the owner of the dealership. I asked how much and he said that seller would probably look for $150-160K....I personally would have a hard time spending that much $$$ for a car that I could never park and leave alone in public.

may i ask if the car is a wide body or narrow body?

and if manual gear box w/o clutch to push, how do you operate the clutch?

This auction ends in 45 minutes, and the price is stuck at $90k. I guess the typical eBay buyers do not appreciate RUFs like we do.

I would be interested to see if this gets sold? My hunch is that the reserve is north of $150k.
